Dua Lipa the English singer-songwriter was born in London, on 22 August 1995. After being a model for a fashion magazine her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her first album. The album peaked at the top of the charts, number third on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. number-one single New Rules that peaked at the top of the charts, number sixth in the United States. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards as a British female solo artist as well as British breakthrough act in 2018. Her album was certified platinum worldwide. Dua Lipa, birthed to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on August 22, 1995. By her maternal grandmother, she's of Bosnian heritage. Her ancestors can be traced all the way back to Peja, which was a city within Kosovo. Her two great-grandparents are historians. The siblings of Lipa are Rina and Gjin. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is main guitarist and lead singer of Oda, the Kosovan Rock band Oda. Her father played music at home, and included songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of aged five. In the teen years, she started singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa recorded the song If I Ain't Got You By Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, for YouTube. The year 2014 was the year that Lipa has signed a deal in partnership with Warner Bros. Records. Her first single was released New Love in August of 2015.
