Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada, but was raised in the United States. She's worked as a media critic since 1995. She created Feminist Frequency the site that features videos and comments discussing the depictions of females in popular media. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist, media critic and award-winning feminist for over 10 years. Feminist Frequency - a not-for profit site for education that investigates female representations in popular cultural narratives is founded and directed by Sarkeesian. In addition, she works to bring awareness to sexual harassment and attacks on women, as well as other minorities, she is dedicated to breaking down stereotypes that are in the popular culture.
